How can one repel the whispers of Satan concerning the misunderstanding of some verses of the Qur'an and the Prophetic Hadith, and the misconceptions about religion, such as the wisdom behind the repetition of dhikr or the apparent contradiction between hadiths mentioned by the inquirer?

One should refrain from pondering over matters for which there is no answer, because delving deeply into them wastes time and effort and disperses one's thoughts. The Salaf (pious predecessors) disliked excessive questioning and formality in what does not concern one, and searching into unseen matters that the Shari'ah commands belief in while leaving their 'how', because this leads to a waste of time and falling into doubt and confusion.

As for the variation in the numbers of adhkar (remembrances) and similar matters, the wisdom behind it is to evoke compliance and test obedience and servitude. Allah has assigned to His servants acts that souls do not find comfort in and minds do not guide to, in order to manifest the perfection of servitude.

As for the contradiction in ahadith regarding Iblis's stance on his soldiers who cause separation between spouses, the correct one is the hadith of Abu Musa, which indicates that Iblis says to the one who causes separation between a husband and wife: "You are close to getting married." Whereas Jabir's hadith is abridged and contains a problem due to the abridgement, and "Yes, you are" is not said to the one who separates spouses; rather, that is said to the one who causes a Muslim to fall into shirk (polytheism) or murder.
