Al-Irbad ibn Sariyah al-Sulami, whose kunya was Abu Najih, was among the people of Suffah. He settled in Syria and died there in the year 75 AH, and it is said that he died during the tribulation of Ibn al-Zubayr. Abu Ruhm, Abu Umamah, and a group of Syrian Tabi'un narrated from him. He was among those who wept much [out of piety] and among the companions of the Suffah.
