Is there an 'iddah (waiting period) for a divorced woman in a period of purity during which her husband had intercourse with her, for those who do not consider a bid'i (innovative) divorce to be valid?

The ruling on innovated divorce (talaq al-bid'i) and the disagreement concerning it have been previously clarified. The majority of scholars hold that it takes effect, and if it occurs after consummation, the waiting period ('iddah) becomes obligatory. As for those who do not consider it to take effect, they do not see the obligation of the 'iddah.
