You have done well in intending to seek knowledge and memorize the Qur'an. The first thing that must be started with is learning the individual obligations (fard al-ayn) such as the rulings of prayer, purity (tahara), and fasting. Then, you move on to communal obligations (fard al-kifaya). The beginning should be by memorizing abridged texts and their commentaries under a knowledgeable shaykh, then gradually progressing to memorizing medium-sized and lengthy books.
