Is it permissible to work in cleaning hotel rooms and bathrooms in foreign countries when there is a need and difficulty in mastering the language?

The default ruling is that working for disbelievers is permissible, as long as it does not involve something forbidden, or assisting in it, or providing a service that involves hidden (bāṭiniyyah) practices. Most hotels in disbelieving lands involve impermissible (shar'ī) acts, and working in them might constitute assistance in sin, which is forbidden due to Allah’s saying: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." Cleaning rooms and bathrooms is not free from the suspicion of assisting in sin. Therefore, it is advisable to look for permissible work that is free from any suspicion. If that is not possible and you are in need, then there is no harm in it, provided you adhere to the aforementioned guidelines.
