How is it permissible to enjoy oneself between the thighs of the wife while she is menstruating, given that the thighs are located between the navel and the knees, and you have mentioned in previous fatwas that it is not permissible to enjoy oneself in this area?

The majority of jurists (Hanafis, Malikis, and Shafi'is) hold the view that it is forbidden to enjoy anything between the navel and the knee of a menstruating woman, citing the hadith of Aisha and Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with them, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to command a menstruating woman to tie her waist wrapper, and then he would fondle her. The Hanafis and Shafi'is permitted this with an interposing barrier, while the Malikis forbade it. As for the Hanbalis, they permit enjoying anything below the private parts, including what is between the navel and the knee. This is a unique view within their school of thought, and it is recommended to cover the private parts when fondling.
