Did all the angels prostrate to Adam, or were there some who did not? And what is the meaning of the noble verse: "Have you become arrogant, or were you among the exhalted ones?"

All the angels obeyed Allah's command to prostrate, as evidenced by Allah's saying: "So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together." As for Allah's saying to Iblis: "Did you show arrogance, or were you among the exalted?" its meaning is that Allah is asking Iblis what caused him not to prostrate: was it arrogance, or was it because he was among those whose status was elevated, and thus he refrained from prostrating due to his great importance?
