Is Zakat obligatory on money and gold set aside to help daughters prepare for marriage in the future?

Zakat (definition) is obligatory on the wealth of a child who has reached the nisab (definition), and their guardian must disburse it. This includes funds designated for purchasing essential needs. Gold designated for savings is subject to Zakat, as is gold intended for adornment or for no specific purpose. As for gold prepared for personal use, there is no Zakat on it according to the majority of scholars, and this is the issued fatwa (definition). Gold and cash are combined for the purpose of calculating the hawl (one lunar year) and the nisab.
