Zakat is not obligatory on jewelry unless it reaches the nisab (85 grams of pure gold).

If the intention of use is combined with the intention of saving or investment, then zakat becomes obligatory on it upon reaching the nisab and the passing of a hawl (one lunar year).

Gold purchased for daughters is not subject to zakat if it does not reach the nisab for each one individually, or if it is for the purpose of permissible adornment and use.
