Is gold acquired for protection against currency depreciation, and worn for adornment, calculated within the Zakat threshold along with money, or is Zakat only due on money, and is wedding gold (the shabka) included in the nisab?

Jewellery prepared for permissible use is not subject to zakat (definition) according to the majority of scholars, though it is good to pay zakat on it as a precautionary measure. As for what is prepared for saving, zakat is due on it, even if it is used. Therefore, jewellery prepared for use is not added to the wealth on which zakat is obligatory, whereas jewellery prepared for saving is added to a woman's wealth, and the total is subject to zakat if it reaches the nisab (definition) and a full year has passed.
