What is the amount of gold upon which Zakat is obligatory if it is worn and intended for saving at the same time?

Jewelry acquired for adornment is not subject to Zakat according to the majority of scholars. It does not matter if it is a means of preserving wealth or if its value increases, as long as it is not intended for trade. If its owner intends it for trade after it was for adornment, Zakat becomes due on it from the moment of that intention. As for jewelry acquired for savings or trade, the correct opinion is that Zakat is obligatory on it.
