What is the ruling on engaging in sexual phone conversations with one's fiancé, or masturbating in this manner, or exchanging direct physical arousal with him before the marriage is finalized and the husband assumes his marital status?
If a man contracts a legal marriage with a woman, she becomes his wife, and what is lawful for a husband with his wife becomes lawful for him with her. However, custom should be observed. What the husband does upon coming home is not a sin, but the wife is not obliged to obey him if he desires privacy with her before consummation.
Conversation over the phone between spouses about enjoyment and sexual intercourse is not advisable, for fear of others finding out.
Emission resulting from such conversation is not problematic, unless it is masturbation by hand or similar means, which is impermissible.
It is advisable to hasten the completion of the marriage as much as possible, for it dispenses with such behaviors, keeps the spouses chaste, and achieves other benefits such as procreation and increasing the Muslim nation.
