What is meant by "Allah's finery" in the verse, "Say, 'Who has forbidden Allah's finery'?"

Scholars have mentioned three reasons for the revelation of the verse: "Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good things of provision?'" 1. The pagans' taunting of Muslims for wearing fine clothes and eating good things. 2. The pagans' prohibition of things Allah had made lawful. 3. Their circumambulation of the Kaaba naked.

As for the meaning of "Allah's adornment," it was said to refer to covering the 'awrah, and it was also said to refer to the adornment of clothing. Al-Tabari said: The address is to those who uncovered themselves during circumambulation and those who forbade good things for themselves.
