What is the ruling of the Sharia concerning a wife who wishes to fast on alternate days, breaking her fast if her husband requests it, even if she is fasting, while her husband opposes her in this?

It is not permissible for a woman to observe a voluntary fast while her husband is present except with his permission, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "It is not permissible for a woman to fast while her husband is present except with his permission." Some scholars have considered this act a major sin, and a woman must obey her husband. Perhaps Allah will record for her the reward of fasting by intention, in addition to the reward of obeying her husband.
