How do we reconcile the Prophet's saying to Satan, "And I curse you with the perfect curse of Allah," with the Hadiths that forbid reviling Satan?

There is no contradiction between the prohibition of reviling Satan and the permissibility of cursing him. Cursing is to pray for expulsion from mercy, whereas reviling is to verbally abuse. The prohibition of reviling him is because it does not دفع his harm; rather, one must seek refuge in Allah from his evil.
