What is the authenticity of the saying or popular narration among people: "Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave"?

The mentioned hadith (definition), "Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave," has an unsound chain of transmission. Both it and "Seek knowledge even if it is in China" are well-known among people. However, their meaning is sound, for a person is born knowing nothing and continues to learn. Allah the Almighty said: "And Allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers not knowing anything, and He made for you hearing and vision and hearts." A believer is never satiated with goodness until his ultimate destination is Paradise. The best way to spend time is in seeking sacred knowledge, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The world is cursed, cursed is what is in it, except for the remembrance of Allah Almighty and what is allied with it, and a scholar or a student of knowledge." Therefore, one should seize the opportunity of health and leisure in seeking knowledge.
