There is no harm in a menstruating woman touching prayer beads (rosary) or books of knowledge, because a menstruating woman is not forbidden from touching anything except the Mus'haf (the Quranic text). It is permissible for her to touch a tafsir (exegesis) of the Quran if the tafsir is more extensive than the Quran itself.
