What is the ruling on someone who says "divorce by three, I will not enter so-and-so's house" before consummating his marriage with his wife, and is it permissible for him to enter that house?

According to the majority of scholars, a conditional divorce takes effect when the condition is met. Some scholars, however, are of the view that if the intention behind the oath was mere threat, then the divorce does not occur; instead, an expiation for a broken oath (kaffarat yamin) becomes obligatory. According to the view that the divorce becomes binding, three divorces occur if the condition is broken, and there is no difference between a wife with whom conjugal relations have been consummated and one with whom they have not. This is the opinion of most scholars. Based on this, if someone swears by triple divorce not to enter a specific house, then three divorces become binding upon him if he enters the house, unless there was a reason for the oath that has since ceased to exist, in which case he does not break his oath by entering.
