Is it permissible to grieve intensely over the death of a cat? Can Allah reunite a person with their pet on the Day of Judgment? What is the fate of animals after death?

Showing mercy to animals, being kind to them, nursing them, and treating them is praiseworthy. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heaven will be merciful to you."

However, there is no need to grieve over the death of a cat or to wish to be reunited with it in the afterlife. The general principle is that animals will turn to dust on the Day of Judgment and will not enter Paradise or Hellfire.

A Muslim should avoid extremism and maintain moderation in all matters, especially in loving transient worldly things. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned us against exaggeration and extremism in loving people, saying: "Love your beloved moderately, for he may become your enemy one day. And hate your enemy moderately, for he may become your beloved one day."
