Is it permissible to draw closer to Allah by supplicating and performing two rak'ahs of prayer at all times except for the forbidden times, along with increasing seeking forgiveness to hasten the answering of the supplication?

It is desirable to frequently supplicate to Allah, and the supplication of asking (mas'ala) during prayer is more likely to be answered. The servant is closest to their Lord when prostrating, so "supplicate frequently," and strive in supplication during prostration, for "it is worthy that it be answered for you." Prayer combines praise (thana') and asking (mas'ala), and there are two types of answers: granting the request and reward. It is desirable to pray frequently outside of forbidden times, as it is the best subject, and "the prayers of the night and day are two by two." Supplication is answered as long as one does not hasten it.
