Regarding thoughts about sexual matters, there is no sin in mere thought so long as it is not acted upon or spoken. However, one should turn away from such thoughts and not dwell on them, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned for my nation what they whisper to themselves as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it."

To remedy this, it is recommended to occupy one's time with the remembrance of Allah and the recitation of the Quran, to choose righteous companions, and to fast frequently to curb desires, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O young men, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it is more lowering to the gaze and better for guarding one's chastity. And whoever is not able to, then let him fast, for it will be a shield for him."

It is also advised to supplicate frequently and not to despair or lose hope.
