What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a wife remaining with a husband who insults Allah and His Messenger and commits adultery, knowing that he sometimes prays, and she has children with him, including a sick child, and she has been divorced by him twice for the same reason, and is it permissible to cohabit with him and remain in his house?
Cursing Allah or the Messenger is an act of disbelief (kufr) and apostasy from Islam by the consensus of Muslims. The perpetrator deserves to be killed, and prayer should not be offered over him, nor should he be buried in Muslim cemeteries. If the husband apostatizes, his wife begins her waiting period (). If he repents before it ends, the marriage remains valid. If he repents after the iddah, the matter is in the wife's hands; she can choose to return to him with the same marriage contract or not. The marriage contract is annulled from the moment of his apostasy, without the need for a divorce. The wife must not allow him intimate access until he repents.
Regarding the mentioned case, as long as the husband maintains his prayers, there is good in him, and the wife should help him strengthen his faith by playing Islamic channels and avoiding what angers him. If that does not work, there is no good in remaining with him. The father should provide for his daughter and her grandchild. If the father refuses, the wife should be patient and seek Allah's help.
