What is the ruling on practicing masturbation ignorantly of its prohibition in childhood, and what is the way to get rid of it?

Masturbation is forbidden, and repentance from it is obligatory. You have done well by using fasting to reduce desire, but the fasting that breaks it is continuous fasting if it is not broken by fasting one or two days a week. Persist in supplication to Allah to protect you from this sin.
