What is the ruling on inviting people to Islam via mailing lists that are not interested in religions, and is that considered an offense to Islam?

The guidelines for a woman's permissibility to invite men to Islam via the internet have been previously clarified in earlier fatwas. It is advisable not to enter private chat rooms, but rather to participate in public discussion forums to achieve broader benefit and avoid fitna (temptation/strife). It is better to limit oneself to sending articles without engaging in direct discussions about them, especially if the sender is not well-versed in their content. We thank the questioner for her keenness in da'wah (inviting to Islam) and for enduring harm, for da'wah is the mission of the prophets who endured much from their people. One must continue in da'wah and pay no attention to those who discourage, for da'wah with wisdom and good admonition is more fruitful.
