What is the ruling on preventing a wife from appearing before her brothers through rada'ah (milk-kinship), knowing that she rarely sees them?
A brother through suckling is a just like a brother through lineage. A woman is permitted to appear before him as she would before her brother through lineage, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not veil yourself from him, for what is forbidden by lineage is also forbidden by suckling." He is permitted to enter upon her if the conditions for prohibitory suckling are met and there is no fear of fitna (temptation/discord). Nevertheless, the husband has the right to prevent his wife from allowing anyone he dislikes into his home, whether there is suspicion or not, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "And your right over them is that they should not allow anyone you dislike to step on your bedding [i.e., enter your home]."
