What is the ruling on reciting "Al-Burda," and is its reciter rewarded?

The Qasida Burda (Poem of the Mantle) contains matters that contradict Tawhid (definition) (monotheism). Therefore, it is not permissible to read it except for those who can distinguish the good from the bad and the sound from the unsound. They should read what is good in it and avoid what is excessive. The reward for reading it, like other poems of prophetic praise, depends on the reader's intention and their adherence to the truth, with the caveat that the belief held by some regarding a special virtue for the Burda and its recitation is invalid, as is the accompanying exaggeration and profound belief in it.
