To what extent is the story true about the rope affecting the rock for Ahmad ibn Hajar al-Haytami, and is it permissible to publish it for its benefit?

The story attributed to Ibn Hajar al-Haytami or Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani regarding his speed of memorization has not been substantiated in any sources. However, it was reported by al-Sakhawi that Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani was quick to memorize in his youth, as he used to memorize half a hizb daily, and memorized Surat Maryam in one day. His memorization was achieved through contemplation, not conventional study. Even if this story were proven true, there would be no harm in circulating it for the sake of drawing lessons and encouraging the pursuit of knowledge, as long as it does not promote innovation or falsehood.
