Is it permissible to continue working for the Christian organization "The Salvation Army," knowing that the nature of the work involves speaking with men and listening to complaints related to forbidden practices, and that the organization is Christian but does not contradict Islamic values?

It is not permissible to work under the umbrella of "The Salvation Army" because it is a dangerous Christian organization that seeks to spread the Protestant Christian religion, using aid to the vulnerable as a means. This contradicts the Almighty's saying: (O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever of you takes them as allies - indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people). Among their beliefs is that Christ is the savior, and they preach the distorted Gospel, and they adopt rituals and slogans that symbolize their beliefs, despite their divergence from some Protestant rites. However, they agree with Protestantism in associating partners with Allah and denying the prophethood of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Its founder is a British missionary, and they include musicians who use music for missionary purposes. Furthermore, being lenient in conversation with them may lead to forbidden attachment and temptation, and the Almighty says: (O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan). We advise leaving work with this institution and seeking another permissible job, or investing energy and expertise in working with Islamic institutions and centers.
