What is the meaning of following and outstripping the Imam?

Following means waiting for the Imam to complete his takbir and movement, then following him in the action. For example, you wait until he finishes his bowing, then you bow. As for preceding, it means you precede the Imam in any action, such as bowing or prostrating before him, and this invalidates the prayer or diminishes its reward.
