When rinsing the mouth (maḍmaḍah), should the person performing ablution rinse with the left hand or the right hand?
It is (recommended) to rinse the mouth with the right hand, and to sniff water into the nose with the right hand, then blow it out with the left hand. This is based on what was narrated from Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) that he performed ablution, scooped water with his right hand, then raised it to his mouth, rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose with a single scoop, and blew it out with his left hand. Some scholars justified rinsing the mouth with the right hand and blowing out the nose with the left hand by saying that the mouth is a place of purification while the nose is a place of impurity, and the right hand is for pure things, while the left hand is for impure things.
