Is it necessary that we not call a woman to [wear] the hijab until after she draws near to God and her heart is filled with faith?

The preponderant view is that disbelievers are addressed by the ancillary rulings of Sharia; thus, it is even more fitting that those with weak faith be addressed by them.

A woman should be commanded to wear the hijab before reaching puberty to accustom her to it, and she should be called to observe all other acts of worship to strengthen her faith.

For the hijab protects a woman and preserves her chastity, while her unveiling is a temptation for men.
