Does the major thalassaemia illness of a son constitute a necessity that permits in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive a healthy child who is a match in cells to his ill brother?

We ask God to heal your son. We advise you to supplicate for him extensively and to perform ruqyah (definition) on him according to Islamic law. If in vitro fertilization proves the possibility of conceiving a healthy fetus, then this is a legitimate need and is considered a form of treatment for the fetus. There is no need to justify it by the need of his brother. If the fetus is born healthy and the other procedure is not harmed and benefits his brother, then there is no objection to it. The necessary precautions must be taken during the fertilization process.
