How can one dispose of money gained from bank interest, and should it be destroyed or given to the needy? If given, must the recipient be informed of its source?

Usurious gains are illicit money that must be disposed of by spending them on charitable causes, such as giving charity to the poor and needy, or spending on general Muslim interests like building schools and orphanages. There is no need to inform the poor person that it is usurious money. It is not permissible to destroy it by burning or throwing it into the sea, because that is the destruction of usable money. Nor is it permissible to leave it in usurious banks.
