Is the advice to "stay away from wearing pants above the knee so that God may answer his prayers" correct?

What is above the knee is considered 'awrah by the majority of jurists, and uncovering it is a sin that necessitates repentance. The supplication of the obedient is closer to being answered, but this does not prevent the supplication of the disobedient from being answered, for Allah answered Iblis.
