It is permissible to divide a over two Rak'ahs in prayer, with a preference for lengthening the recitation in the first Rak'ah and shortening it in the second. It is better to recite a complete Surah in each Rak'ah, even if it is short, and when dividing a Surah, the meaning must be taken into consideration.
