What is the ruling on a father disowning his son and refusing his daughter-in-law's work, and is the son considered disobedient if he does not obey his father in making his wife quit work?

You must strive to mend your relationship with your father, and do not despair. It is not obligatory for you to hand over your money to your father, but if he is in need and you have surplus money after your essential and obligatory expenses, then you must spend on him. Your father does not have the right to prevent your wife from working, and the decision in that matter rests with you. A woman's work is permissible in Islamic law if the legal prohibitions are absent and the husband grants permission.
