How is shirk negated from all types of Tawhid?
To negate polytheism () from all types of monotheism (), five things are necessary:
First: Knowing the reality of shirk, its apparent and hidden forms, its minor and major types. For whoever does not know shirk cannot achieve tawhid.
Second: Gaining deep understanding in religion, dedicating worship sincerely to Allah, confronting every polytheistic characteristic with what eliminates it from tawhid and faith, studying the correct Islamic creed, and rectifying the actions of the heart and limbs.
Third: Showing enmity towards shirk and its practitioners, disassociating from polytheists, and not mingling with them or participating in their transgressions.
Fourth: Showing loyalty to monotheists, associating with them, sitting with them, and assisting them against the polytheists.
Fifth: Constantly guarding against falling into shirk and frequently supplicating: "O Allah, we seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and we ask Your forgiveness for what we do not know."
