What should I do when I utter a word, and then I get a feeling that it is mockery and disbelief which necessitates separation between spouses, and I do not rest until I inform a scholar who then says it is a whisper [waswas]? Note that some of these words may be related to sins, and I fear exposing myself.

Wasāwis (obsessive whispers/thoughts) are from the work of Satan to corrupt a Muslim's religion and worship. Their cure is to ignore them, pay no attention to them, and not surrender to them. The Muslim must be firm, patient, and adhere to dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and prayer, as that repels the cunning of Satan from him. The questioner should desist from delving into these wasāwis and occupy himself with dhikr, reciting the Quran, and keeping company with the righteous.
