What is the ruling of Islamic law concerning a man who divorces his wife at the instigation of his brothers who opposed her religious commitment, especially given that this divorce may be carried out under the pretext of the husband's psychological illness, thus depriving the wife of her children without a legitimate Islamic basis?

The sister did well by not shaking hands with or kissing non-mahram (definition) men; this is forbidden. The husband's two brothers did wrong by boycotting their brother, as this is a severance of kinship ties, which is a grave sin. If the husband is in need of treatment, there is no harm, but if it is to deprive his wife and children, then they (the brothers) have no right to do so. The husband should not obey his brothers and divorce his wife without a valid reason, for divorce without a valid reason is disliked and leads to the dispersion of the family. Everyone must fear Allah and beware of what displeases Him. We recommend the intervention of wise people to prevent undesirable consequences.
