What is the meaning of the Hadith: "A person is tested according to the strength of his faith, and if there is firmness in his faith, the trial will be intensified for him"? And does it mean that poverty and illness increase with an increase in obedience?

Affliction is not limited to adversity; it can also be through prosperity, as Allah Almighty says: {And We test you with evil and with good as a trial}. The affair of the believing servant is entirely good. If prosperity befalls him, he is grateful, and that is good for him. And if adversity befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him. For Allah decrees nothing but good for the believer, even if the decree appears in the form of deprivation or tribulation, for His deprivation is a bestowal, and His trial is a cure. The assumption that increased obedience necessarily means increased poverty and illness is not true; if it occurs, it contains good for the believer, for it expiates his sins and elevates his ranks.
