What is the position of prayer and fasting in entering Paradise, in light of the Qur'anic verse (Al-Baqarah 2:62) which indicates that belief in Allah, the Last Day, and righteous deeds are the fundamentals for entering Paradise, considering that many scholars deem one who abandons prayer to be a disbeliever?

Faith and righteous deeds are two reasons for entering Paradise. Prayer and fasting are among the most emphasized righteous deeds. Prayer is the best and finest of deeds, and it is the first thing a servant will be held accountable for on the Day of Judgment. As for fasting, there is nothing comparable or equivalent to it, as stated in various authentic hadiths.
