How was the niqab of the Mothers of the Believers, and did it cover the entire face, including the eyes, and did women during the time of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, leave their homes?

The requirement is to cover the face by any means, whether with a niqab, by drawing down the khimar, or by using a jilbab. The fatwa adopted by us is the obligation for a woman to cover her face.

The niqab worn by the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the same niqab worn by other Arab women.

Women during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to go out modestly and attend prayers in the mosques. The Prophet forbade preventing them from going to the mosques, just as they used to go out for their needs.
