How do I memorize the entire Holy Quran, and which Surahs should I start with?

All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and companions.

In addition to what was previously mentioned in Fatwa no. 31956, these are recommendations for memorizing the Qur’an:

1. Sincerity of intention for the sake of Allah. 2. Avoiding sins. 3. Choosing a suitable place for memorization. 4. Using a single edition of the Mushaf (Qur’an) whose pages begin and end with complete verses, along with carrying a similar pocket-sized Mushaf. 5. Interconnected memorization of verses, pages, and surahs. 6. Memorizing with a group for encouragement and follow-up. 7. Documenting similar verses.

For beginning memorization, there are three options: - Starting with the short surahs (most recommended for beginners). - Starting from the beginning of the Mushaf. - Memorizing any surah you choose.
