If the suitor is pleasing in his religion and character, the guardian should not refuse his marriage to the girl, especially if he apologized for a mistake he made. The mature, sane girl has the right to insist on approving him, because accepting or rejecting a suitor is up to her. If the girl fears her guardian's obstruction, she may refer the matter to the judge to marry her. It is preferable to try to persuade the parents, and if she chooses to forgo marrying him out of dutifulness to her parents, that is good to avoid future problems. Marriage should be expedited, and the engagement period should not be prolonged.
