What were the morals of Omar and Abu Bakr, and what instances demonstrate their good character, and why did Abu Bakr not narrate much from the Prophet despite his long companionship with him?

Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, were the ministers of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and the best of the Companions in knowledge and virtue. Loving them is a part of faith. Among their noble characteristics were generosity, benevolence, charity, keenness on brotherhood and love, piety, asceticism, humility, fear of Allah, and forgiveness towards those who wronged them. The scarcity of Abu Bakr's narrations is not due to a lack of knowledge on his part, but rather because he was preoccupied with the Caliphate, his tenure after the Prophet, peace be upon him, was short, and the era was still close to the Prophet's time. Additionally, the Rightly Guided Caliphs used to issue rulings and would not narrate hadith unless there was a need to cite them as evidence.
