Is it true that Ibn Taymiyyah said: "The Ash'aris are the eunuchs of the Mu'tazilah, and the Mu'tazilah are the eunuchs of the philosophers"?

The term "Mukhannathun of the Mu'tazilah" (effeminate ones of the Mu'tazilah), which was said about the Ash'aris, indicates that they adopted from the Mu'tazilah, were influenced by them, and followed them in some of their sayings and principles. They did not fully embrace Mu'tazilism, nor did they completely follow the path of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah; rather, they mixed truth with falsehood. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah preceded other scholars, including some Ash'aris themselves, in using this phrase. He often mentioned it while quoting others, saying: "It was said."
