What are the limits of Allah and His duties towards man, and what are the righteous deeds recommended to be performed in preparation for the test?

Obeying Allah and drawing closer to Him is an obligation upon the Muslim in every state, and it is the purpose of his existence in life. One should preserve the prayers at their appointed times, fulfilling their pillars and conditions, and observing humility therein, while increasing in supererogatory acts such as the regular Sunnah prayers, Witr, and Qiyam al-Layl (night vigil prayer). One must pay zakat on wealth, and voluntarily give Sadaqa (charity) and observe fasting. It is recommended to honor one's parents, maintain kinship ties, speak truthfully, fulfill trusts, show kindness to neighbors, and possess good character. Priority should be given to obligatory duties, followed by increasing in supererogatory acts to attain Allah's love, along with striving to remember Allah with the heart and tongue, and persistently supplicating for steadfastness in religion.
