Is it permissible to miss congregational prayer in order to prepare and bury a deceased parent?

Many scholars have mentioned the permissibility of missing Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) for the preparation of the deceased. It was reported from Al-'Izz ibn 'Abd al-Salam that he issued a fatwa to this effect for porters and the family of the deceased, as stated in "Nihayat al-Muhtaj." Ibn al-Qasim narrated from Imam Malik the permissibility of missing it for attending to the affairs of the deceased, such as the expenses of his preparation. In "Al-Madkhal," its permissibility was affirmed even if there was no fear of neglect or deterioration. If it is permissible to miss Jumu'ah for this excuse, then missing congregational prayer (Jama'ah) is even more permissible. It is worth mentioning that congregational prayer is valid in homes and other places and is not restricted to the mosque.
