At what age should a girl wear the hijab, and what is the Islamic ruling for one who has reached this age but does not wear the hijab because she does not accept it? And to what extent are her parents (who are divorced) and her mother's husband responsible before Allah, especially if her father rejects the idea of the hijab?
Islamic obliges a Muslim girl, after reaching puberty, to cover her entire body from foreign men, with a difference of opinion regarding the face and hands. As for before puberty, the age at which she is obligated to cover is disputed, with some saying seven or nine years. This depends on the appearance of signs of femininity and whether she starts attracting attention before the age of ten. The is a divine obligation upon adult Muslim women, and it must be adhered to whether it aligns with personal taste or not; otherwise, the girl is considered disobedient. Therefore, parents must command her to wear the hijab, or else they will be disobedient to Allah and negligent in their trust.
