What should the questioner do regarding her desire to wear the niqab and gloves (al-junti) and her feeling of guilt for not wearing them, given her family's refusal, and what is the interpretation of her dream of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and her death while prostrating after the Fajr prayer in congregation?

Scholars differ on the obligatory nature of the niqab, and the preponderant opinion is that it is obligatory. Obedience to parents is not valid in disobedience to the Creator, so it is not permissible to obey them in their command not to wear the niqab. However, if wearing the niqab results in harm from the parents, then there is no objection to adopting the opinion of those who permit uncovering the face and hands, provided that temptation is secure, in order to avert harm and hardship.
